Lots of festivals opening in the next couple months. Here's a quick rundown:

INDEPENDENT SOUTH ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL - STARTS TODAY!- Our friends at Tasveer bring us another year of the Independent South Asian Film Festival starting TODAY at Broadway Performance Hall! Full details at www.tasveer.org.
- DC APA FILM FESTIVAL - STARTS TOMORROW!
- Tell your friends in DC to check out this great festival. Opening night film is Eric Byler's AMERICANESE based on local author Shawn Wong's novel, and closing night film is Julia Kwan's EVE AND THE FIRE HORSE from Vancouver. Full details at www.apafilm.org.
- LOCAL SIGHTINGS - STARTS OCTOBER 6!
- Northwest Film Forum's celebration of regional filmmaking. - HAWAII INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - STARTS OCTOBER 19!

On October 14, Oscar-winning director Jessica Yu will be in Seattle at the Frye Museum to present her documentary IN THE REALMS OF THE UNREAL in conjunction with the Frye's current exhibit of works by outsider artist Henry Darger. More information at www.fryeart.org.

- Al Gore's CURRENT TV is looking for films to promote their SEEDS OF TOLERANCE campaign to explore the theme of tolerance including topics such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and issues related to class, disability, age or religion.
